Following our AGM last Friday 23 November we would like to announce the following changes in the BBGV board. Patrick Regis has stepped down as Chairman and Cosimo Jencks as Vice Chairman, we would like to thank Patrick & Cosimo for all their hard work and support over the past years: to read Patrick’s outgoing message please click here. Nick Holder, the Chief Financial Officer of Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Ltd, has taken over as BBGV Chairman and Charles Gregory Head of HSBC Insurance is now Vice Chairman, congratulations to you both and we look forward to working with you in 2012. Alun Thomas, Head of RISS is retiring from the board after 8 years, thank you Alun for your valuable contribution during that time on our charity sub-committee. We would like to welcome Steve Banner, Executive Director at Techcombank; Peter Simson, General Manager of the Hilton Hanoi Opera who joined the board recently, both based in Hanoi and Tim Mullet who is the Director of the International Management Initiative for Vietnam (IMIV) who joined the board at the AGM, Tim is based in HCMC. We bid farewell to Tim Brownbill our Consul General and Head of UKTI this month and would like to thank Tim for his support and wish him all the best for the future. Please find a message from Tim below:
‘It’s time to say farewell as my three years in Vietnam come to a conclusion all too quickly. I shall leave on 5 December although remain in the role through to mid-December in connection with a number of Vietnam-related events in the UK. My successor, Douglas Barnes, presently in the UKTI Beijing team, will be taking up his appointment here from 14 January.
I simply wanted to say thank you to the BBGV and its membership for making Ho Chi Minh City such a memorable and enjoyable posting. From my perspective, we’ve worked very well together and seen in a number of significant milestones not least the Strategic Partnership, increased trade volumes and direct flights. I’m not sure when I’m next in Vietnam but I do hope to see many of you when you pass through London’.

Corporate Membership fees will increase to 12,900,000 VND per year from January 2012 for up to 3 corporate members as announced at our AGM. Please note all membership fees, services, and events fees will now be quoted in VND.
