BBGV Membership Directory – 2010
Message from HM Consul General and Director of UK Trade and Investment (Vietnam), Mr Tim Brownbill.

I am delighted to welcome you to the British Business Group in Vietnam membership directory 2010. This annual directory puts you in touch with a large network of BBGV members in Vietnam.

As the global economy continues on its recovery path, we should see some renewed optimism in 2010, particularly, from businesses operating in this region. In Vietnam, there are positive signs. Long term economic indicators suggest that Vietnam remains a good location to seek out new business opportunities. To this end, BBGV is ideally placed to provide the business support and social networks to ensure members capture these opportunities. Through BBGV, members are given a chance to discuss and exchange ideas on doing business here.

UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), the government organisation that helps UK based companies to succeed in international markets, enjoys a close relationship with BBGV though its two teams based in the British Embassy (Hanoi) and the British Consulate General (Ho Chi Minh City). UKTI appreciates the valuable advice and staunch support BBGV has given us in the past, especially to visiting trade delegations and officials. This helps us to assist newcomers to the market and to better represent the view of British companies that already have a presence here.

As an example of our close co-operation; last year, BBGV held several excellent sector specific business luncheons at the British Consulate-General. I am sure there will be more activities to get involved in this year, so I would encourage you to make contact with BBGV representatives, whether it’s in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.

I wish you a prosperous new year.

Mr Tim Brownbill
