National Board Members

Patrick Regis Patrick Regis - BBGV Chairman

Patrick Regis is the President for Rolls-Royce in Vietnam. Prior to this assignment, Regis was the Regional Director for North America in Rolls-Royce’s Marine business segment.

Regis has been with Rolls-Royce for six years, preceded by a 22 year career with the US Navy which culminated in his appointment as Naval Attaché in Paris.  He was awarded the “Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite” by President Chirac of France for his work on special assignment with the NATO Commander in Kosovo.

Regis holds two Masters in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston and is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA) in Paris.

Martyn Davies

Martyn Davies – BBGV Vice Chairman

Martyn is the Director General of Caravelle Hotel Owing Company. He has worked overseas for  the past 30 years, managing hotel projects in locations such as  Cyprus, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Hong Kong, Saipan, Fiji, Canada and the USA. Martyn has been  in HCMC for the past 10 years having been a BBGV member for the same period. He is married to Lynne with one grown up daughter living in the UK.

Khalid Muhmood

Khalid Muhmood

Khalid took over the BBGV Chairman role in December 2006. He has been in Vietnam since 1995 and is the Co-founder and Chairman of Apollo Education & Training, Vietnam’s first 100% foreign-owned training organization. Before moving to HCMC, Khalid was Chairman of the BBGV in Ha Noi. Khalid is married to Arabella and in his free time he enjoys playing football for the Saigon Raiders. In 2008, he was awarded an MBE for services to education in Vietnam.

Ian Lydall

Ian Lydall

Ian is the PricewaterhouseCoopers Senior Partner of Vietnam. Ian has been with PwC for 28 years and prior to moving to Vietnam in July 2001, he has worked in the UK, the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of South Africa. He has been a board member since arriving in country and served as BBGV Chairman for 4 years stepping down December 2006, Ian will continue to act as treasurer. Ian is married to Jakki and they have 3 sons.

Milton Lawson Milton Lawson

Milton has been resident in Vietnam for 16 years, having worked in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. He manages the Ho Chi Minh City office of the international law firm - Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP - one of the oldest, largest and best law firms. He is a long-term member of the BBGV, and has been a member of board for the past 6 years. He recently married, and has one daughter.

Alun Thomas

Alun Thomas

Alun is welsh speaking and has a home in Lianelli, South Wales. He has been in the role of principal at the Renaissance international School Saigon and has been in HCMC since 2002. He has previously worked on Ascension Island , Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Bahrain, Thailand and South Korea. Alun is married to Ingrid and they have 2 sons. Alun is working within the Charity sub-group for the BBGV.

Cosimo Jencks

Cosimo Jencks

Cosimo Jencks is Chief Representative of Hongkong Land a leading Asian property developer and member of the Jardine Matheson Group. Cosimo is located in HCMC where he has been residing on and off for the last 10 years and is married with two young Children. He is currently responsible for assisting in the organizations of business lunches.

Paul Cleves

Paul Cleves MBE

Paul runs Foodlines, consultants to buyers of and investors in Vietnamese fish and seafood.
In 1992, while Head of Geography at Eton College, Paul founded the Saigon Children’s Charity which he ran until 2007. He continues to serve the Charity as a Trustee. He serves on the BBGV Charity and Social sub-committees. In 2004 the Queen awarded him the MBE for services to disadvantaged children in Vietnam.

Martyn Porter

Martyn Porter

Martyn is now a senior member of the HSBC/Bao Viet Holdings Strategic Partnership’s leadership team, based in Hanoi from February 2008. Prior to this appointment, since June 2005, Martyn was Chief Operating Officer of HSBC in Vietnam, based in Ho Chi Minh City. Martyn has worked HSBC for over 13 years in a variety of roles in the UK, Malta, the Philippines and Hong Kong.

BBGV New Board Member

Matthew Powell has been working in the Vietnam real estate market for over five years and has been based in Hanoi for that period.

 

Matthew is the Hanoi Branch Director for Savills Vietnam Ltd. with responsibility over all agency and consultancy business lines covering clients from Danang to Northern Vietnam. As Branch Director Matthew is responsible for North Vietnam business operations, business development and key client management. Working closely with the National Directors of each business line, Matthew coordinates implementation and delivery of works to clients.

 

Prior to taking the post of Branch Director, Matthew held the position of Head of Agency with responsibility for the leasing departments (residential, retail, office, industrial) and residential sales.

 

Matthew has worked with most of Vietnam’s major real estate players including key local and foreign developers, investment funds, as well as a full range of investors, tenants and international organizations.  

Luke Keller

Mr. Keller is the Director General of BP Production and Exploration in Vietnam. Immediately prior to his current position, Mr. Keller was Chairman and President of Atlantic Richfield Company, a wholly owned affiliate of BP p.l.c. In addition to managing Atlantic Richfield’s environmental and other liabilities, the company manages the onshore environmental liabilities, land reuse issues, decommissioning and demolition activities, associated with the BP group of company’s environmental liabilities in North and South America. 

Mr. Keller has previously held a wide range of engineering, operations, business development, crisis management and general management positions in Amoco and BP.  He has managed onshore oil and gas fields in Texas, the largest oil field in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez, as well as BP’s production in the Norwegian Sector of the North Sea. While Vice President of Amoco Caspian Sea Petroleum Company, he served four years as the initial Chairman of the Management Committee of the Azerbaijan International Operating Company, which managed the Azeri/Chirag/Gunashli development in the Azeri Sector of the Caspian Sea.

Mr. Keller is a native of Nacogdoches, Texas and a graduate of Texas A&M University.  He and his wife reside in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam while their two grown children live in Texas.
